who we are

The RedTail Flight Academy, based at the New York Stewart International Airport, is an all-volunteer program.

OUR VISION
‍RedTail Flight Academy is a Tuskegee Airmen-inspired pipeline to career possibilities for underrepresented people of color.

OUR MISSION
RedTail Flight Academy uses aviation as an aspirational platform to recruit, develop, expose and place underrepresented talent with an emphasis on candidates of color in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Safety is the first priority in all our activities. We are committed to implementing, developing and improving strategies, management systems and processes to ensure that all our aviation activities uphold the highest level of safety performance and meet national and international standards.

mentoring our youth

Mentoring is our approach used for engaging youth who experience additional vulnerability or adversity, and are in need of positive adult support.  We provide youth with mentors who can provide support, guidance, and opportunities to help our youth succeed in life and meet their goals.

scholarship opportunities

We provide Academic Scholarships and Tuition Assistance support to deserving candidate. 252 to date & $275,000 in Scholarship awards.

our legacy

African Americans have been involved in every war since Crispus Attucks became the first killed in the American Revolution.
A War Department study in 1925 disparaged the “Negro” as a race that was incapable of leadership, command and their mental ability.
Black combat soldiers during World War II, including theTuskegee Airmen, thoroughly disproved these racist assumptions about their abilities with remarkable aerial achievements.
